The UNICEF Internship Programme 2026 offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical professional experience with the United Nations Children’s Fund. Internships are available across different offices and professional areas, including research, communications, programme management, data analysis, administration and other functions. The programme is open to eligible candidates from different academic backgrounds. Applicants must generally be at least 18 years old and enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PhD programme, or have graduated within the previous two years. Candidates must be proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, French or Spanish. The specific internship vacancy may also require knowledge of the local working language. UNICEF normally provides a monthly stipend to interns. A one-time contribution towards travel and visa costs may also be granted when funding is available. The duration of an internship is usually six to twenty-six weeks, and some assignments may be full-time, part-time or remote. Internship vacancies are advertised throughout the year.
