Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships for Small Island Developing States 2027/28

Country: United Kingdom

University: Participating UK Universities

Degree: Master's

Deadline: 2026-10-20

Description

Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) 2027/28 provide fully funded opportunities for eligible candidates to undertake full-time taught Master’s study at participating universities in the United Kingdom. The SIDS scholarship stream was created to support talented candidates from eligible Small Island Developing States and strengthen capacity in areas connected to sustainable development. Applications for the 2027/28 round open on 8 September 2026 and close at 16:00 BST on 20 October 2026. The programme supports study aligned with four priority areas: resilient democratic institutions, a resilient environment, resilient economies, and resilient societies. Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships cover approved tuition fees, return airfare, a monthly living allowance and other approved allowances. Applicants must be citizens of an eligible SIDS country, be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country, hold the required first degree qualification, and demonstrate that they cannot otherwise afford to study in the UK. Applicants are nominated through the relevant national nominating agency or approved route rather than relying solely on a direct application. The scholarships are intended for study beginning in September/October 2027.
