Degree: Bachelor's, Master's

Description

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a global scholarship initiative designed to support talented young people, particularly young Africans and students from underrepresented backgrounds, in accessing higher education and developing their leadership potential. The program is delivered through partner universities and organizations, and applicants must apply directly through the relevant partner institution. Depending on the partner, the program can provide tuition fees, accommodation, books and academic materials, mentoring and counselling, leadership development, and a return air ticket to the Scholar’s country of origin if necessary. The program currently supports undergraduate and master’s studies, while scholarships are not currently available for PhD candidates. Eligible programs and fields of study vary according to the partner institution. Application requirements, admission procedures, fees, and deadlines are also determined by individual partners. The program places emphasis on academic excellence, leadership potential, financial need, and a commitment to contributing to society. Applicants should therefore identify an eligible partner institution, review its specific admission and scholarship requirements, and submit the application through the official institution. Admission to a partner university does not automatically guarantee selection for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
